I currently have a 4x3 C&C cage for my 3 piggies but I'm thinking of getting them a bigger and better cage. The C&C has become quite wee stained in their hay area and quite nibbled all round the edges and the ramp has been bent and needs to be proped up. I've done some searching and have narrowed down my search to two options.

Either http://www.cagesworld.co.uk/p/Liberta_Extra_Large_Rabbit_Retreat_-_Cage_and_Stand.htm I think this is beautiful and i love the stand but not keen on the size of door or the price :{

Or I buy two of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FERPLAST-...pplies_Small_Animals&var=&hash=item61ce01925b and join them together.

I'm very tempted by the second option as it would be cheaper, the doors are bigger and most importantly it would give them more space but wondering if I'll be able to secure the together. It looks like the side could be easily removed but just thought I'd get your opinions before rushing into anything. :)) Has anyone else tried doing this before?

The liberta cage would actually give you a smaller square area than you have in your current cage (current cage is 1.52 m squared by my calculations, and the liberta is 1.20), however I have heard good reviews on it, and it is plenty big enough for a trio provided they arnt boars. :)

The two ferplasts (even joined together) Would be smaller again at 108.3

If you wernt wanting to downsize, you could always just replace the corex... :)

You're right, see this is why I asked for people opinions :p and here I thought I was good at maths. will have to rethink mallethead

No comments on the cages.

Have you try wiping down your C&C with vinegar? I find using vinegar to be the most effective cleaner for pee stain. You can pour on some towels and let it sit on the most stained part.

The Range sells 119cm x 59cm cages for £39.99. They include a hay rack & have a small door on the front but a large door on top. :)

This is going off the subject slightly but did you find a correx sheet big enough for your 4x3 or did you stick them together?

If your wanting bigger, why not make your C&C bigger if you already have the cubes?

But you could easily modify your cages to fit together if you would find cages easier than C&C, see post from chocdonuty, where two 120 cages have been modified. :)

I purchased 2 of the skyline maxi cages (120cm x 60cm at £39 each) and popped them together, It was quite easy to remove theside sections and the have playsticks as a bridge to get over the bottom joined edges, It works well and theres a piccy in the commecial cages section sticky at the top of the page :)

I got two pieces of correx and joined them together. One piece is a fleece section the other is a hay section. This is causing part of the problem as where the pieces are joined they can get under the fleece and start chewing the plastic.

Thanks I will have to try that. If it was just wee stains I'd probably keep their current cage but I worry about them chewing on the sides. However hard I try to keep the sides covered and even though they're given hay 24/7 and different chewable toys they're constantly pulling up the fleece and nibbling away on the plastic base.

Oh wow your cage looks great. What lucky piggies. Unfortunately the space I have to fit it into wouldnt would only fit two 120 cm cages if I was willing to give up being able to get to my dresser :(

I have ordered two 100 cm cages, well waiting for one to be posted (one arrived already). When joined it will give them a 6ft x 2ft cage and 12 square ft living area which is the same size as what they have at them moment but the best I can do. I'm really looking forward to seeing them in their new home. I'm think of making a 1x6 ft level going across the length of their new cage out of the c and c cubes i will have left over but unsure what to use as a base and ramp for it. any ideas?

I love the look of the liberta. I'm looking at getting the smaller one (i know it's below recommendations but it's only going to be for cold nights in winter) I think pet planet, ECF or Zooplus (a common pet website) do that cage without the stand which takes a good £30ish off of the price :)

I have the second cage you posted link for and its not very roomy for 2 piggies. In the end i got to playpens and made them into one large fenced in cage on the floor. Their much more happy. My 2 rats are now in that other cage they happy to now.

I brought that scend cage you posted and its not very roomy for 2 piggies. :( I ended up buying 2 of the playpens and putting together then making 1 large fenced in cage home and covering floor with doggie training pads and old blankets and then fleeces they are much more happy now.

My rats are now in the other cage and they are happy to.
