hi there was wondering if anyone had any ideas or advise on good cages! I rehomed freckles a few months back and feel his cage is a little boring! He lives alone unfortunately as he has a viral condition that is infectious to other guineapigs (unless we can find him a friend with the same thing which we are always on the look out for). So I want to make him as happy as possible he is 4 and is the definition of lazy! Sleeping and eating is what he does best! Even when he's out his cage which is most of the time he climbs into the dogs bed for a snooze. So I did think a two storey house but genuinely don't know if he would bother going up the stairs! He loves nothing better then either being brushed or being licked by the dog! I have seen also the c&c houses don't know if these are any good?

Hello! I have 2 male guinea pigs, Umi and Kyper, and they share a c and c cage. It is a 2-3, and quite large! It has worked great for them and it looks pretty nice!

I love my C&C cage. I have three girls in a 5x2 for the months where it's too hot / cold for them to be outside.
I think a 2x3 would be fine for a single piggy (there's a great Cage Size guide in the Housing section.) I got mine from here:

I also have mine in a C&C and it works well.
What I like about the C&C is that I can rearrange things fairly easily and I find this keeps them more active.
For example this morning I took out their sea grass balls, and put in a large willow tunnel instead. They have been running through that tunnel and pop corning ever since! I try to make a small change every day.

I also think interacting with another guinea pig does keep them more active too.
Whilst mine don't cuddle up and sleep together, they do definitely interact and play together which is lovely to see.

What condition does Freckles have?
Hopefully it doesn't affect him too badly - he does sound like quite a happy pig.

I use a ferplast cage, which cost me £60, in the medium size for my two girls and it's incredibly safe and secure for them. I also ordered a run/pen off amazon which I hook onto the cage during the day so they can run about.
