New C&C Cage

We just built our first C&C tonight. 3 X 3 which I think works out to a 4X2 in size. Pancake is the only one living in it at present. I did much to my horror find out the panels in the box didn't all have the same size holes. I thankfully only had to use three of them (large holes) for the outer rim (They are in the back against the wall). As I just found out she can fit through them. She's tried the other one but she's too big. It's all in progress but here's what we have so far:

Sorry, your photos didn't work. It is useful to have a check with the "preview post" button, before you post pictures! I always do.

The tighter mesh grids are for putting things on in the storage cubes. I have used them at the back of my cage and around the hay area in order to keep messes outside the cage down. But it can be a bit of a shock when you are not prepared for them!

Thank you. I realized this morning though that we have to build a base BEFORE summer. I live right by a river and we get these spiders in the house that are about the size of the Guinea Pig. I'm terrified she might get bit. So this is definitely temporary. That and I need to shift my bookshelves over an inch so the spacing is right in the back. I'm trying to figure out how high to build the base to keep her safe.
 
EEK about the spiders that's nasty! How do YOU cope with them? I'd be running about screaming.

As for the cage - it's great! I am so jealous of you lot with open top pen type cages. I love them and it's my dream for one day!

I run screaming and make Mike kill them. Raid also has this lovely spider spray. I am terrified of spiders. I just ordered my coroplast. The company I found had a 10 sheet minimum order and the sheets are only 24" X 18" BUT with shipping I only spent $19.93 / £12.68 . I figure with the odd size of the C&C and the fact that Mike closed off the end where I have a top (He used the ones she can run through so if the girls get on her nerves she can hide in there) I can ducktape the seams to customize the size. I'm really excited. I have plans for the base. I want to build a base with drawers to contain her food stuffs and bedding and a routed top channel to put the grids in.
