new boar

Hi all,

I've been asked to take in a baby boar, he was bought with 3 other boys from an auction. They're all healthy, but this one is attacking the other 3, he's drawn blood. I've advised the owner to separate until I can get him, will I ever be able to bond him with another boar, or is he an antisocial little mite? I've only ever had girls so not sure on the ins and outs of boys!

I can't see any reason that he won't bond with another boar. 3 boars rarely work.

I had two boars (Garry and Minty) and then I stumbled across Benjamin. They worked together as a trio for a while, but then Ben and Minty fell out big time.

When Dave arrived as a friend for Ben, they bonded straightaway. They have the odd scuffle every now and then, but that's now mainly due to Ben trying to prove his dominance rather than anything nasty.

I'm sure your new boy will be fine!
