Hello everyone.
Merry Christmas.
I am currently 7 months pregnant and live in a flat with three guinea pigs. My partner wants me to
Move the guinea pigs out to my parents when we have the baby. the pigs currently live in my living room/kitchen which is open plan. I don’t have another separate room to put them in.
Do you Think this is an issue with a new born as guinea pigs wee/poo a lot

Thanks in advance

I've never heard that guinea pigs are unsafe to have around newborns. As long as you practice normal hygiene (i.e. washing your hands after handling pigs, cleaning the cage, etc. before picking up the baby) I really don't see why they would have to move somewhere else.

I have to agree. I’ve never heard of guinea pigs posing a risk to newborns so don’t see an issue. Just practice normal hygiene measures like washing your hands after handling the guinea pigs and make sure their cage is clean
