hi hoping someone can advise as to whether my introduction is going ok! got a new little one today 10wkish, she is also a sow, shes a teddy, my other two are abby x's (abbyruvians ?) i have put her in neutral place with stack of hay and veggies and popped in my two current sows who are around 5-6mths old there was a bit of scuffling going on the one which i though was the less dominant sow (mog) had a bit of a peck and go 4-5 prods in the back at her she squeak so guess she caught her or scared her but didnt persue it i was hoping that was going to be it , after about 5 mins they all had a munch on hay ect now they have finished eating and are having a wander around making that twittering noise as they do the baby seems unconcerned by it all she did atempt to get underneth one of my older sows (mog) to hide not much of an issue she just scuffled her out of the way. I'm not entirely sure thou which one is my domanant sow as i thought i had them sussed only to witness who i thought was the under dog (mog) chattering her teeth last night to the one i thought was dominant (meg) for the dominant one (meg) to back off (at least the one i thought was dominant! is this making sense lol) meg went to go towards baby (to say hi i think?) but mog who has been doing all the fussing and having a go then had a go at meg and chased her off what was that all about? hoping i have not caused a problem here for myself by adding a little on into the mix!
mog and meg do have the odd handbags at dawn and face ups but not realy much else other than rumbling and trying to hump in season which i thought was just normal? i'd realy hate for it to get nasty any advice as to how long i should leave them before putting them in the new hutch? (i was going to put them back in the c&c which is 4x2 with upstairs of 2x1 to keep close eye on them but am now thinking them might be better off in total new surroundings to stop any fall outs as the hutch is bigger) If someone can advise me that would be great thanks I'm nervous one of them will get hurt ! ! i havent seen anything else in the way of nipping for the last half hour so maybe its ok?

thanks weikbe i was hoping you would be online :(|)
they seemed to have settle much more now and are munching again i have now put some (3) hidies into the introduction space to see if there is going to be many rows about who hides where lol
I'm planning on them going out into the big hutch in the summer 5ftx2ft up and down. it is in the disused garage at the mo do you think it a good plan to put them all in there now rather than back into the 4x2 c&c? the c&c also has an upstairs of 2x1 i have taken everything out and turned round the whole c&c so now the upstairs and ramp is on the other side to where they are used to it it is still in the kitchen were they have always lived. (the idea being they will think they are in a new home lol that way i was hoping that there would be less territorial dramas about who owns what and where to save the baby getting picked on) what do you think is the best plan of action out into the new hutch were its nice and quiet or in the c&c in the kitchen were i can keep a close eye on them. the other couple of things i wondered
A) do i shut off the upstairs so they are all on one level for a few days
B) when it comes to putting them all back in the c&c or hutch what order should i put them in first? ie: baby first then older sows or domanaint sow first ect? or will it make no difference in you experience?
many thanks your a star!

btw we still have a bit of pecking and bottom sniffing going on but no humping as yet but it only seems to be when the baby is in mogs and megs way or when they are startled and chasing her out of the way to get in the hidies 8... i guess she just has the strop lol

had to get the ginis back in out of the hallway as the troops were on their way home and didnt want them getting spooked by them all trapsing in.
i put them back in the c&c but minus the hidies just incase a squabble insued i will keep an eye on them for a few more hours then put hidies in at bed times (3 of them just to be safe) my two dont sleep in the same hidie anyway do others piggies snuggle up in the same place or do you find your girls like their own space too. will report back later as to whats going on! :(|)
i will try and get some pics on here too so you can see her shes a cutie. her fur is like sheeps fur is that a teddy? am going to check on her whiskers see if they are kinked to find out what she is :D

Looks like things are going well. With sows, the most dangerous moments are usually right at the beginning, so you can stop worrying!

PHEW! cool do i worry too much lol my hubbys says i do lol thanks :) X
