Hi I have two 3 month old guinea pigs and introduced a baby who was given to me the intro went well they did the "I'm in charge thing" and they nipped it a little after a day it all settled down and they moved into there new cage, I have seen them playing and popcorning around and the baby snuggles up to the older ones. Last night when I was having a cuddle with the baby I noticed she had a little scab on her back I think it's from when the older one nipped her it doesn't look red around it or anything.are they ok to stay together ?
Many thanks Emma x

It's hard to say if you haven't actually seen them fight, theres a chance it could have happened from hitting something in the cage, however if they seem to be fine i wouldn't separate them just yet (:

Thank you they seem ok together they are all eating together at the mo x

It's just that mine have sellnick mites at the moment & the first thing I noticed was a tiny scab :( Is there any hair thinning at all on her back? Lift the fur up the wrong way to have a look, hair thinning is probably mites, but you need a proper vet check to be sure.

Quite often, a little scab on the back can mean mange (or as some people call them sellnick) mites. They have a way of cropping up when a piggy is stressed.
