Hey everyone, I noticed this is a UK site, I hope I'm welcome here. My name is Malissa (nickname is Jaden) and I live in the US in Ohio. :) Last night I got an email from my local freecyclers group, someone had posted about a free guinea pig they were getting rid of because the daughter "doesn't want him any longer" (I hate this excuse) Of course I love guinea pigs and have wanted one for quite some time so I took the oppertunity and she is bringing him to me today. In fact she should be here any time now. I was looking for a forum for GP's and found this place and thought I would check it out :)

Hi Malissa, of course you're welcome here. We have a few members from across the pond and a couple in Australia too.

Congratulations on your new piggie. can't wait to see the pictures :)

hiya. this is a lovely forum :) I have been here for around a month and have learned so much about keeping, caring and loving piggies. Honestly, you cannot read anywhere else (in my opinion) what you can learn on here and feel free to post because it is so friendly. I felt at home straight away and I am shy!

Welcome and I hope you stickk around :)

Hey :) Of course your welcome here, it doesn't matter where you live or come from, it's just the majority of us are based in the UK :) Congrats on the new lil piggy :smitten:

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone. His name is Twix, as for the shavings, I have no idea those were the shavings they used. I think it's just the type of shaving, they don't seem to have a sent to them...

Welcome Melissa! I am new on here too and got lots of advice and friendly welcomes! I adopted Lennie because his owner didn't want him anymore and didn't bother with him :(
Well done for clipping his nails, how did you manage that? Is he very relaxed and friendly? Lennie is very skittish still, although better than he was and I am going to get the vet to clip his nails this week as I am scared I will cut the quick and make them bleed :embarassed:
What kind of cage are you building? There is lots of very useful information on here-have a read...and links to sites about building c + c cages. You are lucky in the states as you can buy everything you need there so much more easily then we can here.
By the way...he is lovely!
