Figured I would start a thread to document the newest adventure I’m about to have with my piggy friends.

I am bringing home a baby boar tomorrow in the hopes that Steve will tolerate one who is smaller than himself especially if he has another bout of bloat in the future. Once I have established that their bond is secure then I will look at offering another piggy a home for my little Bellamy. I’m more worried about Steve not having a friend due to his reoccurring bloat so I really hope this works.

stay tuned guys I’m so excited!

Here he is guys! Haven’t yet put him with Steve just letting him calm down a bit (the person I got him off isolated him to check he was all ok before I bought him home).

I love guinea pigs with human names, does Steve look like a Steve? Gorgeous baby!

i was really against the name Steve at first, but he was actually technically bought by a man called Steve for me as a gift for passing an exam (this was back when other forum members will knoW I was seeking a friend for my previous lone boar Mo- the handsome ginger boy in my profile picture). And so the name was fate to be honest as a thank you to him.

now I really couldn’t imagine him being called anything else. He is such a sassy and quirky piggy with such character and cheekiness. I’d say he looks like a Steve 😂😍

He does look like a Steve. My Womble looks like a Womble even though I never want to call my guineas by cutesy animal names, I always end up doing so. 🙄
Your guineas are all very cute. 😊

What a cute and gorgeous little boy.
Hope he and Steve bond well.
Thank you all for the well wishes I have to admit the little guy reminds me of my beloved Mo a little bit and has already stolen my heart. The big day is going to be tomorrow once I’ve finished work as I am off after that until the 29th so a good few days to establish their bond with me there as a referee😂😂.

I’ve just done a 5am veg shopping spree😂 got an assortment of herbs and things to entice them with during their bonding session. I’ve been given the day off work today and only in tomorrow for 3 hours so it’s time for me to bite the bullet and pray they get along. Due to covid and everything I couldn’t take Steve with me this time so I’ve had to just trust my instinct.

Think I’ll likely do it in the bath tub as Steve has floortime a lot in my room and even though Bellamy does too so it doesn’t smell solely of Steve, I know he thinks it’s his domain so😂😂

We are in business. I’m freaking out slightly cos I don’t want either to get hurt. At the minute they’ve both been humping each other (brave baby 😂), Steve chatters at the baby and is rumbling but baby isn’t doing it back. Keep sorta facing off with their noses but the baby caves which is good- Bellamy doesn’t. They have cleaned next to each other but we’re still early in they’ve been together for about thirty minutes 😂 fingers crossed it looks like it might work

Good luck 🤞

Well it’s not been an hour and I’ve left them in the quiet (still in the bath tub) while I clean and rearrange Steve’s C and C. Only wondering whether the baby might be able t squeeze out of the bars...would rather not come home and have him lose in the bedroom. He’s not tiny tiny but is obviously smaller than Steve.

Hope all is still going well with the bonding.

They are in their cage now, I transferred the blue blanket they were on in the bath tub into it so it was a slightly smooth transfer. So far so good they’ve been in the cage for nearly an hour (bath tub for 2) and they are relatively chill with each other to be honest. The mad crazed humping has stopped for the moment and it is more Steve following him rumbling. 😂 Steve keeps flopping down next to him which is so cute because mo used to do this with Steve when he was a baby. They are eating a pile of hay together as I type this 🥰
