I have two male guinea pigs just about 2 years old. I got them at the same time when they were both four months old. One of them has huge testicles and the other one looks like he doesnt have any! I didn’t know anything about male guinea pigs I just thought it was weird. Anyway, I’ve been reading a lot about caring for them as I am a new owner. Some information says if the piggie has large testicles they could be impacted when he gets older which will cause big problems. So should I get the one with the large testicles neutered or not? After reading about how risky it is for guinea pigs because they’re so small and postoperative aftercare is difficult, time-consuming and complicated! I would do anything to take care of him that is not the problem, but I am afraid he won’t stay still and he will run around (or away from me) and hurt himself or open his incision. Because you have to check the surgical area often, clean up the cage where he is in isolation frequently and maybe administer medication several times a day! It terrifies me because he could die! It was described in horribly graphic detail that his if the incision rips his stomach contents would fall out he wouldn’t live obviously. I would be absolutely heartbroken and completely and utterly traumatized for life! And not just because he is
