Hello!
Any advice would be appreciated! I have a lone (around 5 month) boar who needs a cage mate. I have bonded male guinea pigs together in the past and some have gone well, some needed to be separated! It is very hit or miss!
I am considering neutering my guinea pig and pairing him with a female. Does anyone have any opinions on whether this is the best way to create a solidified bond or would getting a baby boar be just the same?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

It all comes down to character compatibility.
If you have a rescue close to you then they may be able to help you with bonding.

I’ve had boars neutered successfully and they have bonded easily and very happily with my sows.
You need to be confident in your vet as all surgery carries a risk, but personally I would never hesitate to take that option.
I currently have a neutered boar and sow pair rescued as a pair from the Potteries GP rescue

He’s a gorgeous boy and will thrive with the right companion
