I am looking into getting 2 guinea pigs for my birthday coming up but I also own 2 working dog breeds. I have added a camera and a cage with extra panels for the top and may plan to get a lock on my door. Do you think it's still ok for them to be in the same environment?

How exciting!

People do keep pigs and dogs but extreme caution must be taken and the dogs never allowed anywhere the pigs are, and certainly never unattended. The door to the room the pigs are kept in definitely needs to be locked/closed.
For prey animals seeing the dogs would stress them out and then of course the risk of attack from dogs with a high prey drive.

If you have a c&c type cage then additional security would be very wise - cable tie the grids together so the grids don’t come apart if a dog pushed the cage, ensure the lid can be locked down etc

Basically we are planning getting a puppy with 2 pic already got the pigs they are very happy pigs and the pup is 10 weeks old and I really care for my pigs I really want the puppy but don’t want to disturb the pigs of the pup
