I have been struggling with mild depression for a few months due to my weight and looks but now i feel, as happy as a piggie when she gets her morning veggies ::) :embarassed: ;D

I had lots of differant help like my friends, family, pets and people on variouse forums. I know there are lots of kids my age who worry about their looks and weight, and i would love to help them. I thought about writing a story into a teenager's magazine about the support taht is available for people and how to cope with some parts of it. do you think this is a good idea?

Beth; I think it's a FANTASTIC thing to do as after all when you have been there I feel personally that you can offer really good advice as you have been there and know how it feels.
Good luck O0

Thanks, i'll write up something and then show it to my mum to see if she will let me send it in :)

What a great idea, kids these days feel such pressure to conform to a certain criteria and do get down, but do they realise that what they are trying to conform to have been airbrushed and stretched etc? Hope you are feeling better and realise that these people don't look like that in real life?

Sorry that you are feeling depressed. It's hard at any age!Since January I've been trying to lose weight.I'm not on a diet just making better choices in what i eat!Was 24/26 cloth size bought dress yesterday size 22.I have not weighed myself since January, not until August.Strange but if i know how much I've lost might start eating more! It's hard to get out of the habit of eating the 'wrong food' with smoking you stay away, but food it's really hard.Don't put pressure on yourself by saying 'I'm going to lose a stone by next month' do it by cloth size aim for one size less,I'm aiming for size 20 by Christmas.I've lost weight before nearly 7stone kept it off for 5years,but having kids didn't help just an excuse to eat!I got down to a size 16 soo skinny for me,but not aiming too low a cloth size!I will be happy being 18/20 for now!Really hope that my ramblings helps!Losing a little weight will help you feel better about yourself!

Wow, well done :smitten:

Making healthier choices really does work ;) I found giving up alcohol worked for me, but everybody's different!

Only do it for yourself too ;)

I have written something but it doesn't sound to good :embarassed:
I am a size 12 now but my new size 12 jeans are too big for me! but i don't want to end up like my under weight friend how is size 6-8

Beth, get all your thoughts onto paper first cause once its down you can correct grammar and spelling and so on later, I think lots of teenagers will benefit. My daughter who is 16 in July is always worrying about her weight, she used to lack confidence but has got better with age, she is a bit overweight but I never mention it to her for fear of turning her the other way. Ive managed to get through to her that I love her for the person she is and that my love wouldnt change if she was 3 stone lighter or 10 stone heavier. ITs about believing that beauty is skin deep but adults view things different to teenagers so what your doing is a great idea, if you wanted any help with the grammar and spelling I'm happy to help you, Good luck,

Nicky x
