Need To Clip Piggy's Nails... But How?

My guinea pig, Eggs, is very hyperactive and I would like to know how to get him to let me and my mother clip his nails. I'm afraid that doing so will threaten our relationship, but I can't let it go any longer. Any suggestions on how to get a hyperactive piggy to let you clip his nails? (Keep in mind we don't have the strongest relationship, I'm afraid he might lose all trust in me! Note: My mother is practically a professional at clipping a piggies nails, no worries. )

Distracting a piggy with a full mouth is much easier, also if one of you can hold him. The rest is practice and establishing a ritual. You will be usually forgiven within an hour or two days, depending...

Yeah, I just give my piggies loads of grass and they don't mind. Caramel hates being held whatever I do though...
