Hey everyone! It’s been a while.

I’ve kinda been absent for a while, but the new pig has adjusted so well! Ended up naming him Manson. Anywho, he really is a sweet pig. The only thing is when I try to put him away after holding him, he tries to run out of my hand, and it really worries me. I don’t know if he’s excited to see Leo, or excited to go home, but his cage is on a table so it’s quite high up. I always feels bad because I have to tighten my grip, but he nearly jumped out of my hand today and I fear a fall would be fatal. Any tips on what to do to get him in the cage safely, so I don’t have to fear him jumping out of my hands?

Hi good to see you back. Have you got a snuggle sack you could pop Manson in? Then you can hold it shut while you put him back. An old fleece hat would work too.

:agr:
Whenever I’m moving from piggies from their cage to their run and back again, I always carry them in something (a pet carrier in my case) and never carry them by hand.

Another trick is to put him in bum first. So hold him facing you and place him in that way. Does that make sense? Otherwise a cuddle sack or something is a good idea. Even a piece of fleece you could wrap him in the place him in with that and he gets out.

:agr: I put my boy back bum first he used to try and jump way to early and I was worried he'd get hurt but now he doesn't struggle at all until all 4 paws are on the floor

If I am not using a snuggle sack, I always hold my piggy facing my chest with one hand around them and one under their bottom. I then place them in the cage bottom first.
