I have a 3 year old male guinea pig and he has been healthy since we got him from the pet store at 5 weeks. Recently he has started eating less and his poops are smaller and now kinda stringy. We had pet care through a local vet that no longer gives care to them, we have called everywhere. We are very concerned and I don't know what to do. No new foods were introduced at all. Looking for advice or options please and thank you!

Please urgently step in with syringe feeding a fibre rich recovery feed such as oxbow critical care and switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him daily each morning. The daily weight checks are the guide as to how much syringe feed you need to give him but it’ll be a minimum of 60ml per 24 hours, but could be as much as 100ml per 24 hours. You are aiming to stop any further weight loss and to keep his gut functioning to prevent stasis.

He will need to see a vet, but I’m afraid as a UK based forum there isn’t much we can offer regarding vet suggestions in the US.
