Okay guys so I finally got my hands on some new grids (thanks for the heads up regarding the sale at Wayfairs :) ) and am now in the process of extending my cage to a 2x4 grid with an 'L' shaped loft but I have a few questions. Do I need any additional support for the loft, or will it be able to hold with the rest of the cage supporting it from underneath? Because the loft is going to be an 'L' shape there will be one grid overhanging the rest of the cage - again, will this need support or will it be okay freestanding? Is it easy building a 'L' shape out of chloroplast?

Please and thank you! x>>

Hey,

I've never actually made a C&C cage but have just put in orders for all the parts. I'm planning an L shape for the main part of it and have decided to cut the correx in two pieces and make flaps for them to overlap, possibly using velcro to attach them if need be. As to supporting the loft, from the ones I've looked at online I think your will probably need some form of support, maybe (if you have one) use an extra grid under the one over hanging grid and that might just be enough as most 2x1 lofts seem to be fine without additional support :)

Hope that helps xx

I have an L shaped loft but my cage goes underneath it so its supported. From making a c&c cages I would you would need support, just two grids should do it, one across bottom and one on the end to add some support to the structure :)
