i need advice again on merlin and heath

basically i have just found another little wound on heath. the vet said she had found more, so thought they were possibly "playful nips" from merlin :-\

the wouund isnt deep, its very small and already scabbed over, but i dont know what to do because although i dont have any proof as they get on much better than they used to, to me this suggests merlin is nipping at heath :-\

should i seperate or keep them together :-\ they still rumble on odd occasion, and now and then merlin humps heath, but ive never witnessed fights, biting, hostility with my own eyes :-\ so i dont know what to do.

I'm closely observing them today

Hi Lez,

If you can closely monitor them and get proof of any nips (It's hard to spot though, I never saw Twinkle bite Sunshines ear but he did have a wound!)

I wouldn't seperate until you are sure Merlin is the little monkey. :smitten:

Hope you don't have to seperate them though, would be a shame.

I'm not sure its mites, the wounds look different, plus heath has an absess at the min, that the vet said "might" have been caused by a "playful nip" because of how it looks.

I'm staying in my room all day today so i can watch them

i know merlin is a very outgoing and bossy hyperactive piggy, he is even more bossy than bob! but heath seems to be fending him off now when he is in a bossy dominating mood

Ahhh right ;) If it was mitesd which you doubt then he would be scratchign alot which causes the wounds but maybe its just the dominance thing thats going on right now so i would just keep an eye on them and good luck on heaths abscess :smitten:

yeah hes not scratching at all so i think we can rule out mites :)

thanks ill be keeping close watch today, ive rearranged their cage so i can see what they are doing better
