What's the best vacuum to clean hay off the fleece and any that gets on the carpet outside the cage? Everything I've tried clogs up on the hay.

My piggies live in the garage and the best vacuum I've found is a garden vac. Not tried it on carpet but it's good on a tiled floor and does get hay of a heavy duty dirt catcher doormat quite well. It doesn't clog up at all and I have used it for years.

I use a Henry with just the nozzle. I turn the nozzle sideways so it doesn't suck up the fleece as well as the hay. I don't know if you can get Henry's in the US though.

It is a shop vac, but it gets the job done quickly. I think it should be fine running it during the day since your neighbors should be awake then. I have two piggy cages to clean and it takes me tops 30 minutes to clean them both out. I do sweep up the majority of the hay and poos first and then use this to vacuum up the leftover bits.
