Need a tan...

I have to be a bridesmaid in June. I've got the dress and it's a creamy/gold colour. I think I will need a tan because I'm pale and will look rather washed out.

Any suggestions? Sunbed? Fake tan?

And you know the fake tan where you get sprayed... do you have to stand there naked while they spray you?
 
rub in fake tans are so easy now a days boots do their own so do superdrug and they work like mosituriser, I use one most weeks and am getting back into habit of every other day as I'm going to Caribbean in march and would look like a corpse otherwise, I brought a bottle of st Tropez but not used it yet its suppose to be good but expensive but the others are around £3 a bottle you can even get one for the face now Johnsons holiday daily facial moisturiser and to go with it for the body try Johnsons holiday skin body lotion I use normal to darker skin , good luck
 
Sarah - 'I have to be a bridesmaid'. You don't sound too keen! I'd go a little careful with the spray-on tans. One of my friends (very pale) had it done and it was a little bit orange and also a bit streaky, but might just be where she went. Do you watch Friends? If so, have you seen the absolutely brilliant one where Ross gets a spray tan, it's classic.

I think you wear paper undies. There's no way on earth I'd stand there naked. I'd come out with handprints everywhere where I'd tried to cover myself up. :-[

I would aim for a glow rather than a full tan. I think a lot of people go too far and it looks horrible. Do you watch A Question of Sport - Sue Barker gets more and more brown each week. I have to watch it to see how much more brown she is.

yes i agree. there is no way i want a full-on orange tan... and i don't want to have to be sprayed wearing just a pair of paper pants (aaaahh!)

i used the johnstons moisteriser one last summer but didn't manage to make it very even. maybe if i practise now i'll be able to get it right in time for june...
 
its a lovely smell, but superdrugs is the best smell, to get it even you need to exfoliate first then mositurise with normal then let it sink in and then add the tan making sure the knees and ankles (worse areas for forgetting) are nice and well done, do it in circles
 
I go on a sunbed for a 3 min session every other week to keep my Psorasis down. Even though I have dark hair I have very pale skin & have to be very careful. It doesn't really give me a tan but takes away the glow in the dark look! I would experiment with fake tan well in advance & make sure it doesn't rub off on to clothing (saw a bridesmaid with a pale lilac dress edged with orange once!). See if you can get someone to rub it in for you it will prob be the best because they will be able to get to the hard to reach bits............................................................ :o............................................................you filthy women- I was thinking of the back!

Have tried the wipes from Boots. Be sure to not keep going over the same area as you may end up looking like you had been Tango-ed! 2funny
 
its need practice so keep going from now on with a cheapy version, bridesmaid dress pale lilac with orange trim umm very fetching :D
 
Dee and I use the Johnson's also, i still look bloody pale tho ::) Yes be careful around the ankles Dee forgot one night the next morning it was hilarious she had brown legs and white ankles LOL

I also used to go into a type of sunbed for my eczema years ago and it did help.

See if you can get someone to rub it in for you it will prob be the best because they will be able to get to the hard to reach bits............................................................ :o............................................................you filthy women- I was thinking of the back!
