Hey everybody

As some of you may know my OH built our piggies their run a few weeks ago but now they are growing, especially Marley, it's not really big enough for them anymore. So i was wondering what size is a good size for a run? I haven't got a very big garden so would 4ft x 3ft be ok? Or are we going to be having to size up again in a few more weeks/months when they grow even bigger lol.

Thanks for your help :)

I have 2 runs for mine. Both are 10 x 6! 5 in one and 9 in the other and the boys are still a bit argumentative despite all being castrated so they have lots of tunnels and boxes so they can avoid each other if need be.
I think it depends on your piggies really.
When I see mine running round like fury I worry my runs are too small but after reading many posts here I think mine have more space than most and are pretty lucky!
I put them in a 4x3 run when I clean them out and move the runs but they seem a bit small to me for a permanent home. If its just for a bit of fresh air its probably fine.

I'd try and squish the biggest run you can in the space you have. I have a 7ft x 4ft for my 2 boys with a haybox connected to the outside. Enough room for a few tunnels and boxes for about 6 hours (weather permitting) I keep looking at extending but need to find something sturdy enough to drag to a different grassy spot each day.

I've got a 6ft run and the maximum amount of guinea-pigs I put in there is 3 sows but my boars use it too but they all go in it seperatly.

The smaller the run, the more times you'll need to move it each day because they'll have eaten all of the grass. As a rough guide, 5 or 6 guinea-pigs will eat all the grass in an 8x4 run in one day. This is where the grass is at least an inch long and not recently mown.

Know what you mean. I have 4 sows in a 7x5ft run. There's plenty of space for them in there and they love it. HOwever, I'd now like to upgrade - but would do so at the risk of a) using up all the lawn with the run and b) not being able to move the thing!
