Sorry if this has been asked before. My boar woody has been put back on antibiotics, the vet has suggested one week of baytril and then one week of Doxycycline to hopefully combat any lingering infection.
He also suggested nebulising some F10 antiseptic for as long as woody will tolerate it (twice a day), does anyone know how much of the solution (ready made) I should add for it to work effectively?
Hopefully he will tolerate the nebuliser, he's had so many Uris on and off 😞
He's not loosing weight and his appetite is not affected so I'm hoping it stays that way and the combination of meds will cure the wheezing 🤞🏻

My old bottle of F10 solution says to use in a nebuliser at 1:250 dilution with saline. I can't read though what the original concentration of the F10 is.
Hope the meds and nebuliser help your piggy!
Thank you! I think the solution is already diluted so I'm gathering I just fill the nebuliser chamber as much as I can!, do you know how long I should aim for? Obviously don't want to stress woody out more than necessary!

I don't think I filled the chamber completely, but it may depend on the model of nebuliser you are using. It's 3 years since I used mine, so my memory is hazy.
I would contact your vet and ask him/her the appropriate concentration and amount of the meds etc he has given you, and how long for. I used to put my piggy in for about 15 minutes .

I have just used f10 today for my piggy in a nebuliser. I made it up 1:250 as directed on the container.

I did fill the chamber and kept her on it 20 mins. At the end, there was still solution left in the chamber.

It seems to have worked a wonder on my piggy so hopefully it will do the same for your little one.

If you pop 'nebuliser' in the search tool on here, you will find a few posts referring to f10 being nebulised for 20mins 2x daily.

I havent done that yet as I'm just running it by my vet first and my first trial was just me experimenting really to see if it could help my piggy's snuffly breathing. She is on oral anti bs for pneumonia from the vet.

It really has helped though!

I agree that you need to check it with your vet.

Thank you! My vet said to try it for as long as possible (20 mins being the optimum) but to stop if he gets too stressed as don't want to make him worse. The solution is already diluted 1:250 so I put 4ml in and after 10 mins he was quite stressed so I stopped it for the day and am going to try again this evening 🙂

Just a quick update to this thread, we tried woody with the mask instead of being in the carrier today and he seemed a lot less stressed. Yesterday he wouldn't eat for about 30 minutes after but today he took a treat straight after! It does make him sound a bit more wheezy and he does do a couple of sneezes straight after but am I right in thinking this is a good sign that it's shifting the mucus? Sorry for all these questions I forgot to take it up with my vet and they're closed until tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️
