Once again my poor semi long haired piggy Alby is covered In boar glue. On his hair at the back. Last time it happened I tried brushing the hair, unfortunately he jumped and the brush pulled out his fur. He still has a baldy bit. ;( is there any way to remove it? Also any way to prevent fudge from all this humping. I was told they were both 2 1/2 years old but I think fudge is younger as he's very hormonal if you know what I mean.

The only thing I could think of doing if it wont be gently brushed out is to try a damp flannel to try and wipe it out?

It's honestly solid like proper glue. I was going to bath them tomorrow anyway as grease glands need done.

Poor Alby looks like the film "something about Mary"

Yes probably, here's hoping i can get rid of it with a bath. I was hoping to do them tomorrow. He doesn't seem too bothered though he just sits there bless him.

Noo. Don't tell me that. I could cut it off but Alby would end up a baldy piggy. :xd:Poor soul.

Haha i've not had any 'board glue' problems yet so suggesting something is hard! :P

Hehe poor lad! Perhaps some kind of guinea pig board glue protection nappy? :P

I am going to have to cut it out I think. Been reading up on how to get rid of it and it seems most people suggest cutting it out. :bye: I don't want a baldy Alby.

I know, it will grow back till the next time fudge is naughty. I am going to trim him tomorrow as he's sleeping now.

Do boars grow out of humping? Lol.

I do sympathise as my Peanut Butter used to get boar glue all over Hazelnut when they were younger. Hazelnut is short haired so I did manage to get most of it off by first softening with a bum bath and then painstakingly combing out with baby brush, baby comb & my fingernail. Still, a few tufts always had to be cut out.

One time PB got so much boar glue all over H's side, that H had had enough & chased PB all over the cage with PB squealing in fright. PB never got boar glue over H again, although there are always bits of boar glue on the fleeces & vetbed. Washing does not take it out. I have to cut it out of the vetbed. The fleeces just get thrown out when they get too grotty with hard white blobs. Better than having it on piggy hair though!

image.webp Alby's haircut. He doesn't look that bad. However when I was trimming him he picked up a bit I had cut off and ate it! Hope he's ok. I don't understand piggies. Was he trying to destroy the evidence or something. Lol. :shh: I think he's proud of his long hair as he sits and lets you brush him for ages.
