Hi

I've cut my piggies nails for a few months now. It's not as hard as I thought and definitely less traumatic than a trip to the vet. So I would like to continue doing this myself.

I cut their nails little and often so only do a couple of mm every month.

How do I know I'm maintaining their nails at a short enough length and that over time they're not getting too long because I repeatedly don't cut enough?

I've looked on the nail cutting guide and can't see anything there. Maybe pictures of nails at the right length might help me?

Thanks for any advice or help that you can give.

Managed to scoop up the lovey Looney (Luna). And take a pic. Tbf I'm sure they look shorter in the picture to how I think they look when she's moving about or napping.20220123_143857.webp20220123_143819.webp

That looks about the length mine are.
I agree with you that a little at a time is best.

Thanks!

Never know what to call my lot. None of my pets have fur so they're not fur babies.

Skinbabies sounds...... erm.... like something off a horror film. Scaley babies doesn't quite cover them all either.

Then there's the black cat that isn't ours but has sought me out for whatever reason... She walks to and from the bus stop with me when I'm coming and going for work. She will nap at ours or follow me round the house every day. When I'm feeling sick or down she always stays close. I've never encouraged her to be with me she's just there. But I'm glad she is.

Here's her watching over me at the bus stop this week and snuggles when I was feeling under the weather last week.
