about two weeks ago, two lovely piggies were rehomed to me. the lady had to give them up because one of her children turned out to be allergic to them. they came to me in a smallish cage that i quickly upgraded to a midwest plus cage. the piggies are adorable, but they're extremely skittish. i'm able to sometimes stroke one's head, but the other one won't let me get near her at all. she'll come out of a hide if i'm in the room but will hide if she notices i'm looking at her. i doubt either were handled much at all in their previous home, or if they were, it wasn't a positive experience. i would be okay with waiting longer to gain their trust, but their nails look uncomfortably long. i'm not sure if i should continue to wait or try to hold them in a towel to go ahead and trim their nails. i just don't want them to hate me lol! i'm open to any suggestion on how to go about this :)

Get someone to help and keep them occupied by feeding with parsley.

I first started nail trimming by going to the vet and having someone there do it while I watch. Now I have a family member hold them while I trim the nails :) Best of luck xx

If you're not happy with doing it solo at the moment, would getting it done at the vets help? Assuming you haven't already had them at a vet it would be a good chance to have them checked over as well.

Welcome to the forum
I always take mine to the vet where the nurse trims the nails.
I’m too wimpy to try it myself
Please can we see pictures

Is it just me or are those nails still pointy? If they are that tells me they've never been clipped and if that's the case they've probably not been handled much if at all.
