My guinea pigs are 3-4 months old, but I don't know when to clip their nails. How do I know when to do it?

If they are white nails you will be able to see the quick that runs down the middle of the nail. Cut their nails when there is a bit of a gap between the quick and the end of the nail. If they are black I would just take a tiny bit off every couple of weeks.

This may help you.

thanks! oreo has one black paw so it might be hard to see, but right now their nails are really short but sharp.

You should be able to keep tabs on his nails pretty well from him white nails; black nails are always more difficult, but you'll get a bit of sense from the white nails, and you can just be a bit cautious with the black ones.
If you're really uneasy about it, you can usually also get it done at a vet's office (technician appointment) or pet shop (call first). Depending on the services offered, many might be willing to show you how, as well.

Young piggies have little needle nails ... they get a bit thicker as the piggy gets older.
