Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have four board, two of which are about four years old, and two that are about are coming up to a year. Three of them get along like a house on fire (the two oldest and one new one). However, I have a VERY fiery piggy called popcorn. He's a real big bruiser of a piggy, he weighs around 1.3kg and he's not even one yet. He's a big powerful piggy and his attitude seems to reflect this!
Anyway, one day whilst my back was turned (only for a second!) he and one of my older boars got into a serious fight, teeth were knocked out and everything! Thankfully, there were no major injuries and all their teeth grew back without any problems. What I was wondering though is do some piggies just like to be by themselves? I've never forced them to get along, only encouraged and took loads of precautions when introducing them. Pocorn gets along really well with my other older boar fine but seems happiest by himself. When I get him out for a run, he only Popcorn's when no other piggies are around?!
He's also very aggressive towards my other young boar, and seemed to launch at him whenever he had a chance-regardless of whether he had done anything! They have completely separate enclosures in a multi-level cage so there is no fighting anymore. I'm just a it curious because EVERYTHING i've read says they need lots of company. He stays with the older boar that he gets along with, but does have some alone time when the others are out for a run. Is this ok? Just a bit worried he's not as happy as he could be. Sorry to go on but I thought I should give the whole story! Thank you for reading..
