The frost bit into my skin, I looked around, the mountain was coated in a white blanket of snow, the chance of rescue was looking bleak, the climb had been a bad idea, I knew I shouldn’t of gone the way I wanted to go, instead of the way my partner did. I looked at my hard, frostbitten hands, pain burned down my arms and legs, my coat no longer gave me any warmth, my eyelids flickered, they were slowly closing, No! I couldn’t sleep now, I would die for sure, I had to stay strong. I climbed out of my snow hole I had dug and scanned the un-even surface, I could see a light in the distance, realising this as my chance for rescue, I ran towards the light, the frostbite on my toes was killing me as I ran, but I didn’t care, I was almost there, when I felt the ground fall away from beneath my feet, it must have been a few seconds, but it seem to last an age as I fell, deep into the ground. I grabbed a small ledge and hung there, my hands were slipping, how stupid of me, CREVASSES, I should of known, I felt anger pound through my veins, but this anger was aimed at me, my only chance of rescue had gone, and I was hanging by an icy ledge, that if I let go, I would fall into eternity.
