Hi Guys,

I have re-introduced myself couple weeks ago. But for those who havent read it, quick update. I use to be on here and I had two boars. I had to give them up due to living situation (but they are with a family friend, very happy and all grown up).

Mid april I went out to a farm with a friend to help her find a piggy. While I was there I saw this lonely boar who seemed to be neglected, he was also was sneezing and the owner didn't seem to care much. I couldn't leave him.

Here is the problem:

Took him to the vets, he had his course of antibiotics. He is still sneezing but only once in a while. His nose is now dry and not leaky like before. He eats like a right pig! haha ALWAYS hungry, which for an ill piggy a good news.

The previous owner said she didn't have time for him so he wasn't handled for a long time. He is terrified little thing. Any noise scares him. He HATES being picked up and tries to claw his way out!

I cant trim his nails because I can't hold him still. I feel like I would hurt him if I held on any tighter.

HE NEEDS A FRIEND. Now that he is feeling better I don't want to put it off. I have checked local RSPCA but they have no pigs. I tried to find local rescue and came up with nothing! I now live in Hereford. So ignore swansea in my personal bit.
Please help me!

Do I risk buying one from a pet shop and what if they don't like each other?! there is a pig in the adoption area in pets at home (a pig who somebody didn't want). So thats another option.

and how quick can you tell if two piggies get on?

please help me find him a friend :(

What a little cutie! You are lucky to have the best guinea pig rescue in the whole of Wales not far from you, in Glynneath. Suzy offers full residential boar dating; if it is done as carefully as she does, any resulting bond is as stable as a sow bond. She has single boars of various ages and temperaments so she can find exactly the right companion for your little boy.

If you haven't bonded piggies before its a good idea to go boar dating, that way they can find the perfect friend for your piggy. Sometimes its takes a couple of attempts but they usually will find one they love :)
