My piggie loves Childlife Vitamin C!

I have recently been giving one of my piggies who has a Respiratory infection, bayrtil antibiotics and thought that giving some childflife Vitamin C may help it go down a bit better. Unfortunately Bindy isn't particularly happy with the baytril or the Vitamin C but that cant be helped, she needs the baytril till she is all well again.

When I was giving the Vitamin C Lola came up and I could see her madly interested in the smell of it. So I gave her a taste, well she went mad over it and now whenever i give Bindy her medication, I also have to give Lola her Vitamin C. She keeps wanting more and more of it so now I give her a couple of syringes of it diluted with water. She even licks it off Bindys chin and front. It is amazingly cute her demanding it and all I do is place the syringe nearby and she sucks it clean, licks the end and looks up for more. I am smiling to myself thinking, you are going to be an easy pig to give medication to, should I be in that situation. Yippee!

Ha ha! I love it when they start liking things like that. One of our girls used to loved cystease and would run away with the syringe

Spike used to love his Metacam, but hated Baytril. I used to give him the Baytril first, he knew the Metacam was coming next, if I wasn't quick enough with the syringe he would grab it sideways and throw it across the cage, his look said right that's out of the way, now can I have my nice stuff.

Funny they all have different preferences. Bindy is tolerating the Baytril (Just tolerating) but I am sure she is clenching her teeth for the vitamin C because more of it ends up down her chin and front than in her mouth. Fortunately shes getting the Baytril which is the most important. Then Lola comes along and licks Bindys chin and front to clean up the Vitamin C because she loves it so much. LOL.
