Since I have really enjoyed looking at photos of other peoples' sheds, I have decided to post some of my own. It's a 3'x6' shed, with a 5'x2' double storey hutch and it houses 4 lovely ladies.

Fantastic layout, the piggies will love it! :))

Wow it looks fab and so girly, just how i would have mine if i had one. Violet and primrose are just gorgeous.

Do your hutches sit on top of the fleece? Do you have to move them to get the fleece out to wash it? I cant quite tell from the pics xx

Thanks guys - I'm glad you like it. I wouldn't be 'allowed' bright pink in the house, so it has to go in the shed! ;)
I've cut the fleece to fit, so I won't have to touch the hutch. I've tucked the edge under their wooden house and platform, on the hope that it anchors it a bit. You can't tell from the photos, but there is also a window opposite the hutch.
:)

Oh woweeee, that is BRILLIANT! A fantastic home for your piggies and they are lovely by the way x)

Hi I've just joined this forum and this is the first post i've ever written a reply to so i'm doing this right :), WOW i absolutely love your shed - your piggies look so happy it's fantastic and i'm loving the pink too! I'm thinking of doing something similar for my four, could you tell me what you use under the fleece? & what sort of fleece is it? e.g. just normal fleece material? I'd love to know as it's a great idea. thanks xx

Really cool shed! I love all the signs too! :)) And all your piggies are lovely x)

Hi and welcome to the forum! :)p Before I joined I didn't even realise that you could use fleece, but I'm so glad that I found out about it as I love it! There are loads of great threads about using fleece - people really helped me figure out how to do it. I did start off using towels under, but, even after 2 or 3 days, they were so wet that they were making the wood damp. So now I'm using cotton mattress toppers, which work fantastically well and I'm expecting them to last about a week before they need changing (after 3 days they feel pretty much dry). The fleeces were £2 each from Dunelm; I'm spot cleaning morning and night (takes 5 minutes), then changing them twice a week. I've only been using the fleece for a couple of weeks, but, so far, I am pleased with how soft and dry it is for them.
The only little adjustment that I'm going to make tomorrow is to glue some sandpaper onto the ramp - they've been using it, but I've noticed that they have to slide the last few inches - they don't seem too bothered (perhaps they quite enjoy the ride) but I'll feel happier if they have a little more traction. ;)

I'm loving your piggie shed. Its fantastic ! I wonder if my daughter would mind me taking down her playhouse to make way for a piggie shed? Hmm i can but dream.
If i had the space this is something i would love to do. Thanks for the ideas. Better not show my piggie sweep, she will be packing her bags and heading your way!

Thank you. Well, now that they've been in there a few days, it seems to work as well as I hoped it would - they love having so much space. In fact, they told me today that they think I should let a couple of rescue piggies share it with them - they said it was only fair now that they've got such luxurious quarters! ;)

I love the wooden hidey house you've got in there. I'm seriously tempted to get one for my pigs' shed as a place to retreat to.

I would love. Natured boar to join my four girls but my Ellie Won't except one :(

It was £25 from Ebay - I thought that it would be a bit of warmth in the winter for them, as it's raised off the ground.

Did you try then, Claire? I must admit that I will be slightly nervous about possibly upsetting my 4, as they've really settled nicely together. However, I now know how many piggies are looking for homes and we've definitely got the space (and more than enough love) ;) so it seems only fair to try - I've always loved the idea of a proper little herd. I was thinking either another pair of sows or a neutered boar and sow pair? Would a rescue (I think I'll try either Honeybunnies or Cavy Corner) want me to take my 4 in to them and see who they get on with, or would they leave me to just try them at home? x

Yes, I tried adding a boar to my group and Ellie took a dislike to him and they ended up having a huge fight which resulted in blood being drawn so I had to return him :(

A rescue would probably let you do the bonding yourself if you feel confident enough but would request a home check and ask you to return the pig to the rescue if a bonding failed.
