I can't bring myself to say goodbye to you yet.
It was so sudden, but I just want to say, you are so incredibly loved.
I miss the way you'd stretch out so tall, so I could boop your fuzzy little nose gently. Or the way you'd sit on your cage at the very end to watch me. The way you'd scream across the house whenever I moved a muscle, cuz you wanted boops, or kisses, or treats, or just to talk to mama.
I meant it when I said you're safe with me, and you still are. I miss you, my love. I could go on and on about how wonderful it is to have known you. But just know, it has only been 2 days, and there have been so many moments where I still find myself glancing for you, stepping over to your cage for you, or grabbing you a cookie, with nowhere for it to go. I still hear you wheeking sometimes, but the silence is awful without you.
