Hello, it's my first time here. Sorry, my English if I have made mistakes. Well, my guneapig is 4,5 years old and male.1.5 years ago, I noticed a little masses in his breast and at first, I didn't care so much. However, after 1 year, I took it seriously because it seemed to have grown a little more so I took him to a vet. After that, my vet told me he had a tumor in his left breast and she said he needs to have an operation but I was scared that he might die after the operation and I might blame myself. I told her that I don't want any operation because in my country exotic pet veterans are uncommon and I don't know that if they are skillful, it is really expensive. Now, he is nipple is color little purple and a little bigger than before. I will again try to show his breast to another vet and they probably tell me to do an operation on his breast and I'm still scared to lose him because of the operation but I'm scared that the lumb will grow more and cause him hard days and I don't want to see him suffer because I didn't accept his removal surgeon. I saw many cases here where people had similar problems that's why, I wanted to take your opinions. By the way, he is healthy, he hasn't lost any weight, he is eating well and is active. I'm not sure if it is because he is still in the early stages.

Hi

This looks like mammary tumors. They can be benign or malign but the problem with either kind of tumor is that unless they are operated out, they never stop growing until they are so big that a guinea pig cannot stand on all four legs. I really wish I had better news! :(
Males are actually more likely to have mammary tumors than female guinea pigs.

Here is more information.

My Bill had a mammary tumour and sailed through the operation. Please consider having the op, it’s usually quite straight forward surgery. The trouble with these types of tumours is they grow and grow and eventually ulcerate. At that point there is blood loss and also a huge risk of infection, the tumours benign or cancerous can also spread

Good luck 🤞

Thanks for your opinion. Tomorrow, I will talk with a exotic vet and I will do his surgery.I hope that his surgery goes fine.I will try to share the progress with you.😊

Aw, hope it goes really well. I quite understand your hesitation to do so, there’s always a risk but I think the alternative would be much worse in the end. Have a good read on post operative care guide, it’s really helpful Tips For Post-operative Care

Good luck 🤞
