so i have talked about my 2 piggies who fight and live as neighbours with a divide. ive started trying to bond with them more and i have also noticed they sometimes lay together next to the bars. but yet still fight when put together. so i figure they like being neighbours and wondering what it means when i have one of them out and they starting talking to each other across the room. so i just filmed it and uploaded it if anyone could look for me and help that would be awesome - excuse he mess of the room atm i have uni work scattered everywhere! its mainly colossus you can hearing chatting but you can hear the other one chewing on his cage bars and talking back a bit too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ_KabU5Sck&feature=youtu.be

my take on this is that the piggy on your lap is saying three different things, that kind of blur into each other. The lower pitched chortling sounds he makes is a sign he is happy and enjoying his cuddles, when his voice becomes more 'whiney' sounding and he is moving about more he is saying he is restless and wants to go exploring. The very clear sound his friends makes is a call saying 'i'm over here!' and he responds with a similar call and lifts his head up at the same time looking to see where his friend is.

Your boy is a bit apprehensive at times and not quite decided yet whether he really likes sitting still and being cuddled, but he trusts you enough to tell you, so that is a very good sign. He's also busy making sure that he is staying in contact with "piggy central", as young piggies instinctively do. He's a lovely vocal character!

There didn't sound like any alarm noises from them. Colossus was just nattering and being inquisitive. Piggies will talk to each other to keep in contact if they are separated from sight just to reassure each other that they are still near each other. Is that the C&C you were having so much 'fun' with? You can use small (80mm or 100mm long) tie wraps or cable ties to hold the grids together more tightly than the plastic clipon things. My C&C's are held together that way and are very sturdy and rigid. Colossus is quite the chatterbox, I hope he stays that way, I think the sound of piggies talking is lovely.

(added ) My typing is so slow that two other people answered you question before I finished mine, must learn to touchtype.

thanks everyone thats so good to know more about how he's feeling around me, I'm glad his trust is building in me and even though he's got a divide between him and his fellow piggy pal they still clearly have a bond as they always call each other like that. its funny they are 2 dominant males who can't live with each other but can't seem to live without each other either!

haha oops hope i havnt upset your piggies! i often listen to piggies on YouTube with mine in the room most of the time they dont care though haha
