what do I do? nothing about their habitat has changed, they've been living together for a year and half now. however since yesterday night they've been fighting constantly, today I woke up to them fighting again and both had bitting wounds (I also don't know how to treat these wounds) please help!

when I put them together on a pillow they stop fighting and just lay down besides one another (the black one almost slept instantly, I don't think they even got to sleep due to all this fighting)

It sounds like their bond has broken down.
This is a shame, but sadly can happen at any time and often the reason isn't clear.
Unfortunately once two piggies have fought and drawn blood they are unlikely to live together again.

In the short term please separate them so they don't sustain any further injuries.
Is there some way you can split their current cage so they can still see each other but not have direct contact?
How big is their cage and do they have 2 of everything?

In the meantime you may find this guide helpful.
Bonds In Trouble

It does sound like their bond has broken down. Could it be because of the heat? Sometimes mine get grumpy in the heat. I would keep an eye on the wounds, you could always bathe the wound using cotton wool and luke warm water just to keep it clean. They don't look very deep bites though more like a deep scratch.

:agr:

Unfortunately it seems their bond has broken. You've been given some excellent advice and links above. They will need to be separated. It isn't all that uncommon for them to decide they don't like each other when they reach a certain age.

Hi!

Even younger adults can still suffer the odd strong testosterone spike right out of the blue. Unfortunately, after a fight like this, the bond is usually broken. :(

Please take the time to read the relevant information about your 'what next' options.

thank you! I put a grid separating the habitat in 2 now, they're already trying to remove it though haha ( ;u;) but thankfully they let me bathe the wound as you advised me. I think it could be the heat as well, this fighting episode has happened once before but only one of them got bitten so I didn't think much of it, two days later they got back into normal interaction, I hope they can go back to normal behavior this time as well...

That’s such a shame. I don’t think I would risk ever putting them back in together now. I’d be scared they would really hurt each other badly.
