For years I have wanted my own guinea pig room but living at my parents left me little option to have one. I recently bought my own house and my dream of having a pig room has now come true!
The estate agents thought I was bonkers when they asked for my housing criteria and couldn't quite believe that someone would want a room just for guinea pigs (they have clearly never experienced their awesomeness!).

The room has grass hand painted all around the bottom and on one of the walls I've drawn and painted a huge tree which when complete, will have hand print leaves done by my family thus creating a family tree :)
Each cage is an L shape of 5x2 C&C grids with a loft of 1x3 on the left cage and a 1x2 loft on the right cage.
I have six rescue piggies that live in two trios. Rio, Daisy and Lily live in the cage on the left and Ginny, Oscar and Merida live in the cage on the right.

I hope you like it, I know the pigs certainly do! :D

Thanks folks! It's become quite a talking point when people visit and most people say it's their favourite room in the house :) I love sitting in their with them and just watching and talking to them. Lily always comes rushing over in the hope I've brought food with me!

The room is amazing! My piggies have their own room and I just showed my mum and she said I could do it to their room!

I cannot wait! :D

Wow! I love it! I'm hoping when I finally move out that I'll be able to afford a place with a dedicated piggy room! Can't imagine it'll ever look as glam as yours though! It's fab - well done :)

That's awesome I'm currently renting but my piggies live in the 2nd bedroom with my computer (which is where i spend most of my time so I can sit by them too!) I so want a mortgage and want a 2 bed place at least so my piggies get a room too! otherwise they can just have my living room. Unfortunately buying seems such a long way off for me atm due to so many stupid technical reasons that just suck majorly! (takes anti depression pills now) lol

Aww I know that feeling! I'm 28 and my friends all got houses aaages ago. I saved for so long, but it was worth it in the end. I'm sure your piggies are very happy regardless :)

Thanks for all the lovely comments :D

in 28 too i cant wait its my dream to own my own home

Oh that is fab, wish I had the room for a pig room, when family comes along you need all the spare room you have.

I have five kids and now down to two so we have space now, didn't when we were all here.

This is amazing, I keep joking about this with my mum that when my brother moves out I'm going to turn his room into the guinea pigs room!

I'm another member of the 28 club! :)

Though at the moment my dreams are reduced to just getting out of my parent's home - even if it means renting! I'm the only one of my friends who's never moved out before, which means I'm also the only one who's not had to move back in with my parents which I understand is quite demoralising according to my friends.

id happily still live with my mum but its not an option for me but now i just want my own home so badly paying someone elsea mortgage is so expensive

I love it! A nice, big, insulated animal shed full of rescues is my dream! Moving out when I finally go to college in 2 years so hopefully I'll have a job and my own place after that and it will be packed with animals. I love the grass/tree idea btw, so creative! :woot:

hiya can i ask where did you get those wooden houses from and what are they called, they look fab:)

Thanks! They're the rabbit wooden huts from Pets at Home. They're about £16 each I think. They do smaller ones for guinea pigs but I got the bigger ones in case all three piggies wanted to squish into them :)
