My guinea pig keeps coughing up wood chips and food

This week I noticed my guinea pig has been coughing up small pieces of her bedding and pellets, I've been looking up online to see what's wrong with her but I can't find anything, She also sneezes a lot but I'm assuming that's because where we live allergies are bad, I am a new guinea pig owner so I don't really know what to do.

Please have her seen by a vet - it’s always best to have any issue checked with a hands on check as we cannot tell you if there is anything wrong.
Excessive sneezing needs a vet check as piggies can be at risk of respiratory infections so anything like this needs to be checked out. Allergies in guinea pigs aren’t usual. They can have sensitivities to bedding but because a respiratory infection is a serious issue it needs to be checked out first.

Does she live with another guinea pig? Piggies are highly social animals and need to always be kept in pairs

Hello and welcome to the forum. I’m sorry your piggy is unwell.

If she is sneezing and coughing then a trip to the vets is in order. Is she eating ok? Are you weighing her weekly? Then you will be able to see quite quickly if she is ill as their weight starts to drop in a sick piggy. Good luck at the vets. Keep us posted.
