So I have two guinea pigs called Mario and Luigi and I have noticed that Mario who has red eyes has been squinting a lot, their cage is outside,is this normal or does he need to go to the vets and if he does then is there anything I could do my self so me and my pigs can stay safe at home?[EDIT]I just thought that I should say that only Mario is squinting

Hi!

Piggies with red eyes are much more ligh sensitive. Place a towel over the top of the cage and make sure that your piggies are carefully protected and have something warm and cosy to retire to that is away from the any cold ground.

Guinea pigs do not cope well with sudden jumps in temperature and temperature extremes; it makes them susceptible to respiratory and urinary tract infections. if you are having cold bare feet after five minutes outside, your piggies will be cold, too!
