My guinea pig has been bleeding from bottom for a few days and whenever she bleeds she makes a painful sound. It is not exactly pure blood color, its more like watered down blood. She eats and drinks less than before. Also she poops less than before. I am really worried and want to take her to vet, but there is no guinea pig vet near my house. Has anyone experienced the same thing? By the way she is almost 6 years old.

No experience of this but please get her to the vet if you can

Oh poor baby! Have you tried calling vets in your area to see if they have an exotics vet recommendation?

If she is eating and drinking and pooping less you need to start syringe feeding her or her guts will shut down.

Illness Support Care Guides

Have a read of the above and it will give you all the info you need. Find a vet and get an appointment, This is not normal. Your guinea pig could die.

Please get to a vets as soon as possible. For a guinea pig that is a large blood loss and not something that will cure itself

Ditto - this is a life and death emergency, no one would be able to help over the Internet, nor would you be able to treat her at home, so please please take her to a vet. Any vet is better than no medical help. All vets have a duty of care in emergencies and when an animal is in distress, so they cannot legally refuse to treat her. Where are you based?

Thank you for your advises and I will definitely visit a vet today. I am based in Irvine, California.

I just got back from the vet and he said its UTI (urinary infection). He injected antibiotic to my pig and also gave me 12 days of pills. He said that she will get much better tomorrow, so i will see what happens. Thanks everyone for your advices, they truly helped me!

Hope your little one gets better soon.

I grew up in a town called Irvine but my Irvine is in Scotland.
