I have 4 guinea pig, Hestia, Hermes, Hera, and Demeter. We first thought that hermes is a boy that was the seller told us along with Hestia (sorry for the bad English) yes Hestia is a boy. So we misgender hermes and got pregnant. 2 weeks before hermes give birth we got hera and Demeter. Hestia seems to be bonded with the two because everytime i take the 2 our hestia wants to be with them. When hermes goes into the labor i separated her to others. So she wouldn't get stressed. I remember giving them pellets and hay the morning hestia seems to be ok he is eating with others by the afternoon when i finally separated hermes. Hestia won't eat or drink. And i got scared. Can any one please help me what to do?

One time i took hestia to hermes to visit. And hestia making a purring sound. But hermes is pulling his hair out so i need to take hestia a out..

You'll get advice, but just to say that Hestia can't be kept alone, guinea pigs need a friend or they can become depressed. A boar needs to be in with another boar, or to be neutered and kept with sows. Hestia can't visit the girls if he's not neutered. Good luck for Hestia.

Hestia have a companion which is hera and Demeter. But still looks sad he wont eat or drink. Hera is sleeping with hestia

Can you please clarify the sexes of the piggies.

Hestia is a boy
Hermes is a girl

What sexes are Hera and Demeter?

If both Hera and Demeter are also boys, then you will likely not be able to keep Hestia, Hera and Demeter all together long term. You can only keep two male guinea pigs together long term successfully. Three male piggies together will cause fights and piggies can become bullied and withdrawn.

How old are they all? If the they are young and still within their teens then this makes trying to keep three boars together incredibly difficult. They will also need a very large cage covering 300x100cm to stand any chance of being able to get far enough away from each other.

If Hestia isnt eating and drinking, then you will need to step in and syringe feed him and see a vet. You will need to weigh him daily so you can know how much syringe feed to give him to keep his weight stable

Please do not take Hestia to visit Hermes. They cannot be together in the same cage any more so bringing them together is causing stress to them both.

Has Hermes had her babies? Have you sexed the pups? Any baby boys need to be separated from her by the time they are 250g in weight or 21 days old, otherwise they will also get her pregnant again.

Hi!

Please see a vet as soon as possible. Hestia is not sad; Hestia sounds like they are potentially very ill. If Hera is lying with Hestia, then it is likely for moral support but not because of sadness but illness.
Any guinea pig that does not eat or drink anymore, counts as an emergency.

You need to step in with feeding and watering support asap in order to keep Hestia alive.
You can find our one stop emergency and bridging care link with all the necessary information, including how you can improvise in an emergency in this link here:

Please also be aware that hot weather can lead to heat exhaustion or a fatal heat stroke in guinea pigs: Hot Weather Management, Heat Strokes and Fly Strike

Once you have separated guinea pigs, you cannot let them meet again; ESPECIALLY not any unneutered males over 3 weeks. Hestia is the only sow, then you will have to find her a new female companion and double-check the gender before any introductions.

Please take the time to read the green links in the previous posts.

Please make sure that you keep any boars over 3 weeks away from any sows so you are not risking another pregnancy.
