This morning i was awoken to what i thought was a bird singing at my window but rubbing the sleep from my eyes i realised it was one of my GP's it was the strangest sounds and have never heard it before, i couldnt see which one it was from as it was still dark and i didnt want to move to stop the sound, i though i might have dreamt it but it was real, I just wanted to share and wondered if any one else had heard such a sound?

YAY you're so lucky! you've heard chirping x)x)x)

i'm sure a few more people will come on and tell you there stories of there piggies soon........

One of mine does this quite alot, like yours though its at dusk, i suspect its toffee, i will try to record it next time she does it. There was a debate a while back as to weather it was a happy noise, i dont know if we came to a conclusion?

it was very early in the morning around 5.30 ish as i was thinking that i would be awake again in a hour, I hope it is a happy sound it sounded like she was happy it lasted only a minute or so.

A few years ago when I still lived with my parents I had a couple of piggies in my room and one of them Thunderbolt made a noise that sounds like how you describe, it was very strange :{

Someone recently posted about this on another thread, also they had recorded it and put it on You Tube, as I played it back my guineas really didn't like it at all they all started to doing the warning growl and Archie my boar shot under the table and hid.

My piggies usually live outside, but during the last winter they were in the conservatory for several months. One evening, man and I were watching a film and we heard what we thought was a bird trapped in the conservatory. On investigation we realised it was Apple. She was stock still, almost frozen. She went on for several minutes. I never worked out what had caused it, and I can't say she looked particularly happy. It almost seemed like she was communing with higher beings. (yes, I know, I'm a bit daft!)

I heard one of my boars do this after a very stressful fight with another boar. (they had fought whilst i was out) he look petrified and frozen as if he was calling for help - wasn't pleasent to see :(
