My Cat And Guinea Pigs

I've already bought everything I need for my piggies just need to rearrange my room first. The cage I have has bars with quite large spacing and my cat who is now 9 used to bring all sorts of animals into the house so could easily get a paw through these bars so my Granddad has made a wire mesh to put over the cage so now my cat can't get a paw or nose in. My piggies will be in my room and my cat isn't allowed in my room anyway. Do you think this will be okay to prevent him from being able to get in? Just in case he does get into my room. We're not sure how he will react to them anyway so we will make sure we take them out for floor time while he's outside.

My cat isn't bothered about my guinea pigs.
During floor time. The boys are in a pen. Holly does have access to it but she never bothers.
you know your cat at the end of the day, if your cat is nosy then take precautions like you have done. Or have a supervised visiting time lol so your cat can get it out his system
