Hello

I'm new here.
I recently got 3 baby piggys from the pet shop and then I found this wonderful forum. I had my 3 piggys living in a rabbit 80 cage the length is under 80cm because it seems to be smaller at the base.

I recently brought some grids and correx and managed to make a 2x3 c&c the actual length is 115cm by 75cm the connectors are quite spaced out giving them max space. They are all baby piggys and popcorned around their new cage.

They go in the indoor run daily which is a 3x5 grid run.

The cage looks huge compared to the average cage. Will I need to make it bigger if they get older or can I just build upwards as a 2x4 takes up a ton of space as they live I doors.

I've attached some pictures please let me know if they don't show.

All opinions welcome x

hi, welcome to the forum :)

the cage looks lovely. you will need to make it bigger as they get older. the good thing about c+c's is that you can make them to fit the space you have, so have the option to go upwards instead of across. as you have three, you will need a minimum of a 5x2 c+c worth of space as they become adults. preferably more if your little ones are boys, just to minimise the risk of any fallouts. :)

eta: another thing to add - if you're using woodshavings then i would advise switching to something else as they are known to cause some issues health wise.

did you but them on amazon if so I have the same ! x

Hello and welcome. what a cute set up. They will love it. Love how they each have a hidey igloo. You will probably have to give them more space when they are bigger. Your run sounds great too. They will be happy piggies.

Do you mean the cubes? Yes I got them from amazon they came within a few days and I got 30grids so very happy. The only problem with the white grids is I have noticed the paint peeling off. Although I don't think amazon do black or other coloured grids. I've seem some cages with pink grids I would soooo love those lol

Aww thank you Julie. Do you know what age they will get big. Right now they are 8weeks I think although someone told me pets at home sell piggys from 5weeks.

Very nice cage! I'm a bit jealous! You will have to make it bigger as they get older and remember upper levels and lofts don't cound as it is the same amount of space just up a bit more. :D

I've had no problems with the paint maybe just a bad batch ! x

I am not sure what age they get big at. As I have always had adult piggies. My current 2 are 2 1/2 years old, they are fully grown. So I imagine that they are fully grown around a year or so old. (However I may be wrong and it may be earlier.) you will know yourself when they start getting bigger.

Very nice cage! Have you thought about using fleece? I love it! And you don't get wood chips all over the place, Just the hay lol lol.

Can't wait to see piggy pics.

Hi and :wel:to the forum.
Your cage is very nice, your 2x3 is fine for young piggies, but once your 3 piggies get older you'll need to make the cage larger. ;)
