Hi all,

I have had my two boys for a week now and they are such a pleasure to have around the housex)

Well, the last day or so they have been behaving a little oddly. One of them (Hoggle I think) is making a kind of chirriping vibrating sound on and off and Ludo is wiggling his backside around. Hoggle seems very interested in Ludo's swaying of the hips and follows him. Then Ludo will turn round when Hoggle is too close and they both kind of raise up on their back legs a little in a kind of stand off.

We have just checked them again to make sure they are definately 2 boys and they both have the little protruding bit lol.

I'm confused now, are they maybe trying to work out the dominance issue or have they fallen in love lol:))

Thanks!

Actually I've just seen the sticky above:)) Looks like my boys are testing each other. We're in the process of making them a cage so they will have more room to play.

Hi, i have 10 boys, they do this all the time, its a dominance thing! :) freddie especially does it to his baby, little fred if another pig comes too close to him! x

Thankyou!

I had a mad panic thinking maybe one was female, mind went in to overdrive about how I could separate them and everything:)) All is well and we have checked yet again and they are definately 2 boys.

Aren't they just the most adorable creaturesx)x)

x) yes they are! i wouldnt be surprised if you end up with a few more, you wont be able to help yourself :)) once you've fallen in love with a piggy, thats it! i started with two! lol :) x

I know, hubby is cross with me as I was looking on trade it for correx and stuff and came across an ad for a poor piggie.

"male guinea pig - we have one mad himmie boy 4 months old will need a lot work done with him .
Price: £3"

Just reading that makes me feel awful for the poor little fella.

Thankyou!

Of course, then you get two sows who are doing it when in season, so we get the same panicky threads from the other side of the river... mallethead

Piggies have a way of keepng you entertained and on your toes!

awww, poor piggy! :( thats so sad. its such a shame, theres so many ads like that around.

My OH has banned me from pets at home, i'm not allowed anywhere near the adoption centre! too tempting! :))

i got harry off the free ads & so happy i did fell in love the morment i saw him so went & got him that day his cage was twice the size he was no hay & they had him on the front garden in a fence for piggies on his own they were inside he snuggled in my arme & i brought him he's now got a huge space & spoiled lots loves a good cuddle we even had a little sleep together lol

its just so hard to say no to piggies they have a look on their faces that says take me home & love me x>>

Hey, you copycat! ;)

:)) I thought I had chosen unique names before I saw your user name last week:)) Labyrinth - fantastic film;)

When Africa did this constantly to Leo I just thought he was gay =] but it annoyed me *** Leo hated it... they never thought, but I thought jesus it's like he's stuck in prison lol. Africa does it a little bit to Corly who doesn't really respond other then the get lost noises =] It's all about dominance... even when they mount.

It makes me think how funny it would be if HUMANS did this for domance, none of the males could go out without being randomly mounted by other males lol!

it sounds like they're doing what's called 'rumbling' mine do it often & wiggling their bums at the same time, it is definately flirting! haha! xoxo
