My piggie scratched the area near his eye when he was using his hind-paws to remove an itch or something. I'm applying Mupirocin twice daily and it's already reduced a bit. Should I take any other steps?
Just googled Mupirocin and it's used to treat impetigo and is only prescribed by a Doctor in the UK. Did your vet prescribe it?I’m not sure what Mupirocin is but be very careful what you put near their eyes. Has this been prescribed by a vet?

We called him, and he said that Mupirocin isn't harmful. I'm not putting it in his eyes, but around it. Basically the furry part.I’m not sure what Mupirocin is but be very careful what you put near their eyes. Has this been prescribed by a vet?
He said that it isn't harmful, and since I'm putting in near his eyes, it won't affect his vision.Just googled Mupirocin and it's used to treat impetigo and is only prescribed by a Doctor in the UK. Did your vet prescribe it?
He hasn't scratched the eye ball, but area around it. His skin is scratched so I'm using Mupirocin.Has he scratched the actual eye ball? If so, it would be best to see a vet who can assess the damage and prescribe the correct treatment x
It's a small graze, and since using Mupirocin, it has decreased so it isn't obvious anymore. It's healed a lot, and I probably won't need it from tomorrow. If it’s a small graze I’d just keep a close eye on it. Can you post a photo so we can see how bad it is?

Thank you! I'll dab the eye corners gently with it.It looks like it was really just a scratch.
However, I would recommend to use only saline solution so close to a very sensitive organ like the eyes. You can make saline yourself by stirring 1 teaspoon of salt into 1 cup or 250 ml of boiled, cooled water.
