I've done it again.Totally fell in love with this little girl.I think she is a texel. She reminds me so much of fizzy-pop (in my avatar)I couldn't walk away from her.Si took one look at my face and just said "is it a girl, I take it she is coming home with us" He knew from the look on my face how I felt.Have never fell totally head over heels like this with any other guinea pig except fizzy-pop.I love all my piggies but poppy-rose and soda-pop are extra special

What a stunner! :love::love::love:

I'm not surprised you brought her home with you. She has a lovely name - very apt with that coat.

What a nice, understanding man Si is.

She is beautiful! I want to adopt another two from my local shelter. One of them has been dropped at some point and has damaged his spine so has been dragging his legs and now has piggie arthritis in his back legs. He is on pain relief which will be a lifelong thing. Would love to give him and his friend a loving home to live out the rest of their days, but having 9 already I'm not sure my husband will agree :(. Wish I could get him to....any tips? Lol x

I'm pushing it now. Can't get away with bringing any more n unless they are in dire need and very short term

I rescue from gumtree, preloved and pet shops if they are lonely and scared.Have had three from pets at home adoption but she was full price. I couldn't resist her, it was wierd.I think only the forum people would understand (maybe I'm just mental)

I get you, it's like an instant love/attraction, felt it with my chaps. I think it's a good thing I got two boars, if I'd got sows I think we'd be overrun by now . Still tempted to take more boars on though, there's always loads in rescues and on Gumtree!

I felt it with Kyle but not quite as strong.Heathcliffe just needed out of where he was and then I realised he had health issues and it sort of made the decision for me.Jasmine is just so pretty I melted.Tiger-Lilly I didn't think it was fair passing her on and I knew my girls would help her.Daisy-ldot I thought had had enough and my gang would help her through it and Eliza-mae is cute as hell too.I have stewybus if I need help with any now, can't keep any more

I have the same problem! My parents wont let me adopt more guinea pigs because I already have two females. I would say that you should appreciate and love the nine piggies you have :). Maybe if you got more you wouldn't be able to take care of them effectively and they would be sad.
You could ask your husband if you could house them outside because there is more room outdoors also, if you really must adopt another pig.
How do you find the time to take care of so many guinea pigs? How big are you cages?

She is so beautiful! Has her hair been cut in this picture? I have a Texel named Muffin. She is a very shy guinea pig and likes to keep to herself. What is your Texel like? :)

These are my cages. I enjoy spending the time looking after them so I think that's why I don't mind it. I also have 2 dogs and 2 young children and am a part time carer.

I wouldn't want them outside as I don't think I would spend as much time with them, especially in winter. I probably am going to adopt them. If I shuffle a few things around I can fit another large cage in the piggies room along the side where my storage is at the minute. If I build a cage with wood and Perspex and have it raised off the floor I can store all the piggie stuff underneath :)

I had no intentions of getting anymore, but I know the rescue will find it hard to home these wee guys with one of them being unwell, and I don't think an extra 2 is going to add too much more to what I'm doing at the minute.....famous last words! Lol x

My new texel is cuddly once you get hold of her.Quite shy still but very placid. My other texel (rip) was super cuddly and loved going up my dressing gown sleeve. She was fizzy pop , the pig in my avatar.Soda-pop is sort of named after her cos she reminds me of her

Wow what an amazing set up! They certainly look happy. I understand; if I saw an injured animal I would want to adopt it too. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that lol. My parents won't allow it XP. I bet if you adopted the new piggies they would be happy in your home. They would have alot of friends! X)

I was stopping at four, now have ten.Lonely scared pigs pull at my heartstrings and I knew my girls would help them

Six sows and one boar in one, two sows in a 120 and a castrated boar in another until he is safe. Before I got heathcliffe was just gonna have one boar with all my sows but that went out of the window when heathcliffe arrived. He was originally gonna be a rehome from me but due to problems with his bits didn't work like that (and he is super cute)Have two rabbits, one from a bad situation and one got for company from pets at home adoption. We have three dogs from bad situations too.

Going from 9-11 won't make much more difference will it? Lol. These new two will be going in a separate cage so I'll be going from 2 cages to 3. One of the new guys has damaged his spine due to being dropped at some point so will need a little extra tlc X

TBH I struggle with the cages a bit due to painful joints so looking forward to them all being in c&c cages.Need to rejig the guinea room, rabbits going outside in large hutch and run.The hay and veg bill jumps up a bit with an extra two but I get hay and bedding in bulk so fairly cheap

Mine are on fleece so once the initial buying is done it's only the price to wash it. Hay I buy in bales £4.50 and let ages. It's more the veg that costs the most for me...although what's good about having more pigs in that respect is you can give them more variety without it going bad and getting wasted :). Can I ask you what amount of veg you feed yours daily? I've never actually measured the amount I feed mine so not sure if I'm giving them too much/little X

mine get a couple of bowls a day between the ten. I know recommended is a cup a day but they get two types of hay a day, redigrass and decent pellets . They seem to do fine on that. They get pepper every day and two other types of veg

I give mine between them:-
2 bell peppers
1 carrot split into 9
1/3 cucumber split into 9
3-4 large leaves of Spring green (40x30cm leaves roughly so pretty big)
1/2 round lettuce
A couple sprigs of coriander each
Do you think thats about right? Too much? Too little?
X

Recommended is a cup of veg per pig per day but I've had some of mine for three years ish and they seem to be thriving.Mine are getting about half a cup of veg a day each I think
