My baby won’t stop crying when i move him from it’s mom

my guinea pig had a baby recently so they have been in the same cage together for a week and half and whenever i go to hold the little one or give it play time it’s just cries until it’s back with the mom. Is there anything i can do to calm it down a little bit?

Hi!

Please take your baby out together with their mother and socialise with both of them. Babies are very dependent on the protection of their group at this age, so whenever they feel lost, they will cry for help; it is a very distinctive noise. Mother will also get worried pretty quickly when she hears that call. Please respect this close bond that babies and mothers have at this age and have the baby on their own only for moments. Your time will come!
