Hi all. I’m a bit worried because I just fed my Guinea pigs a small handful of fresh grass from my backyard for the first time. They liked it a lot but I remember as I was yanking it out that there were a few small mushrooms in my yard. I did not wash the grass because I thought I didn’t need to, as many people occasionally let their Guinea pigs roam and munch on the lawn, and it can’t be washed then so, I thought it was ok despite the mushrooms growing alongside. Is this safe? Are they gonna be sick from potentially ingesting spores. Should I just relax, watch, and wash it next time? Thanks in advance.

I'd just keep a close eye on them over the next couple of days for any unusual behaviour, lethargy, fluffed up coats, digestive upsets etc. In which case straight to the vets as an emergency.
Next time just check for mushrooms and give it a wash first 😊
