Moving & Stress

Does moving between cages cause stress? I have a guinea pig and am facing some ownership issues (long story) and am wondering if bringing my guinea pig to a different cage when I visit my dad's house will cause any stress. It will be the same 2 cages, but I want to make sure that it's ok.

I'm sure it will cause some stress just with the new smells and sounds, but from what I've read they usually settle in, in a few days.

Ensuring there are familiar items from one home to another will settle them in. By not cleaning a hides house, food bowl or a favourite cuddle cup type thing will definately help.

I moved my piggies from a free range shed in to a temporary dog crate and then in to a new double story ferplast 120 in the spare bedroom.

It didn't take them long to settle

I was worried about my guinea pigs when I started a new job as they go to a pig sitter every week from Monday pm to Fri am. But they are fine with the travelling and new environment each week. As long as there is food and cuddles they happy as larry!
They will be even more happy when I find us somewhere permanent to live
