Well by the end of next week I am hoping to have enough extra cash to buy a nice fleece liner :)
But I was wondering what I might need to put underneath. The fleece liner would have a mattress protector underneath the fleece. Would I need to put anything down underneath or would I be ok just having the liner on it's own?
Thanks :)

I've never tried a liner before only fleece with towels, which i used to put newspaper under but it was pretty unnecessary and after a while i stopped using it (:

It depends what kind of matress protector you intend to use. If its a really high quality one, sometimes you need nothing underneath but even my expensive one I put dry nights bed pads under. However I see no reason you couldnt just put newpaper under the liner :)

I use a washable waterproof mattress protector underneath the vet bed and the whole thing is over a tile floor. The mattress protector is terry towelling topside and some sort of vynil/plastic underside.

It works great. There is never anything on the tile floor or the underside of the mattress protector. But the terry towelling is full of brown spots so I know the urine has wicked trhough the vetbed and soaked into the terry towelling.

Should work just as well under fleece.

I think newspaper will be fine, if it the liner you have, not just fleece, I bought one that a member on this forum made and it is an 'all in one' with a fleece skirt to tuck over the sides of the cage walls.

They are really quick to change too :)
